"It may be true that preoccupation with time has been the downfall of Western Civilization, but it can also be argued that conjecture about eternity is a waste of time!" said Quentin Crisp. So while I ponder on this o so true statement, there is nothing in this world that beats burning the midnight oil on a drawing or painting you want to get right. Certain people might think what I do is a waste of time because I don't make any money and it's self indulgent. The old cliche, Art's for art's sake is what I have always believed in, unless someone offers me a million dollars for one of my pieces. I work, live and breath with my young family in a leafy suburb in glorious Melbourne, Victoria. My hometown offers a wealth of ideas but much of my inspiration emanates from the dizzy world of pop culture and history. I'm a generation X so it was natural for me to be sweep away by the cultural tsunami of music, film and television. I'm by no means an artistic snob, as I find merit in all facets of art, high brow and low brow, from the Sistine Chapel in Rome to graffiti in the alleyways and byways of media-centric modern cities around the world. I enjoy sharing my work with people around the world since I believe it is my way of communicating my love for humanity and different cultures. In addition to my artwork and dabbling with photography and film, I write fictional stories and I am in the process of writing a novel which is taking me forever and a day. Maybe one day it will see the light of day and find itself in a bookstore near you. Academically speaking I have a BA in Art & Design and a Diploma In Architectural Drafting and Design. Anyway enough of the trumpet blowing. Please feel free to visit my website at: JD Aka Jinndow All images are copyright © JinnDow Enterprises. All Rights Reserved.
