We are currently experiencing the worst drought in a century, making me aware of how precious every drop of water is. On the very hot days, I feel sorry for animals that find it difficult to source water in the urban environment. The two sparrows represent the fragility of life around us. The way the male waits for the female to drink, represents kindness. The painting is done with a painting knife, using only three primary colors plus white. The painting reminded me of a poem I learned at school: Little drops of water, little grains of sand make the mighty ocean and the pleasant land ... little deeds of kindness, little words of love, makes this world an Eden like the heaven above
