About The Artwork

In this series of artwork called "Exploring your world" artist investigates the emotional state of modern people. After Covid-19 conquered the world, mental health questions became more pronounced among other everyday life problems. This is sort of an inner conversation or reflection on "how can we bring balance to our life?" My watercolor technique inspired by a Greek legend about Amethyst. Amethyst was a young virgin who became the object of wrath of the Greek God Dionysus after he became intoxicated with red wine. When Amethyst cried out to Goddess Diana for help, she immediately turned the girl into a white, shimmering stone (quartz). When Dionysus realized what had happened and felt remorse for his actions, his tears dripped into his goblet of red wine. The goblet overturned, and the red wine spilled all over the white rock, saturating it until it became the purple quartz that is now known as Amethyst. I used Dionysus's tears to create beautiful patterns on watercolor which are unique and never repeating. As a conclusion of this story I think we can take our problems, anxieties, bitterness and create something beautiful that will bring stability and peace to our lives. This artwork is signed and dated. Will be carefully packaged with protective materials. Certificate of Authenticity included.

Van Adel stands at the confluence of fluidity and form, bridging the delicate worlds of watercolor painting and paper sculpture with unparalleled grace and creativity. With a deep-rooted passion for exploring the ephemeral beauty of nature and emotions, Van Adel's work captures the transient moments of life, immortalizing them in muted watercolor and meticulously sculpted paper. Artist harnesses the unpredictability of watercolors to depict scenes that pulsate with life, energy, and movement. This mastery of the medium is complemented by an innovative approach to paper sculpture, where paper is not just a canvas but a living, breathing entity that is folded, curved, and sculpted into intricate three-dimensional forms that challenge the viewer's perception of space and depth. Van Adel's artistic journey began in the serene countryside, where the subtle beauty of the natural world became a constant source of inspiration. This connection to nature is evident in every piece, serving as a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us and the fleeting moments that make life precious.
