About The Artwork

I thought painting was done year ago, but took to finish it recently and it feels ready for the world. My NY experience as artist is strongly connected with LIC, which is West part of Queens bordering Manhattan on East River. Waters edge gives scenic sunsets but when Hurricane hits, roads become waterways. Contributing factor is that East River is really an ocean stream. Area was industrial in the past so warehouses attracted City artists. For years it was a heaven for all kind of art but Graffiti gave exceptional flavour with whole blocks covered with murals and writings. One of most famous place was 5PTZ, (or 5 Points) in early 2000s. In 90s the place was known as Phun Phactory. I had art studio in that very building, on 2nd Fl. Many photos of the place are still floating on internet with big writing on 2nd floor wall :" Zoran Studios" 'Factory' is still in names of many places in the area but urban transformation turned most of them into super-modern glass towers. The Old LIC with dimlight streets winding around graffiti covered 19th and early 20th century brick and mortar warehouses still lives vividly in my memories. I had the biggest studio space in the hood and had some epic art parties there which are still talked about to this days. Acrylic and spray paint on gessoed honeycomb cardboard 1/2" thickness.
