I love Mallorca! As an artist, living in Soller is a dream - there is so much inspiration. I never run out of ideas of things to paint and particularly love the sunsets, especially in winter, when the skies are dramatic and not only clear blue. My garden is another source of inspiration, beautiful roses and lemons straight from the tree, such a luxury for a Scottish person! There are many artists also working locally, and it is great to be able to paint alongside them, sharing ideas and motivation, in a local studio. After many years in the fashion industry I decided to follow my heart and dedicate myself to painting and to developing my skills. I took a part-time course at Edinburgh College of Art then moved to London where I occasionally joined local art groups but largely worked alone. In 2020, I had the idea to create a web-based directory for art on the island, showcasing the work of the many artists working here -
