Giorgos Achilleos was born in 1979 in Larnaca, Cyprus. He presented two solo exhibitions. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Greece and Cyprus and worked as a scenographer and costume designer at the theater. His paintings can be viewed in public and private collections in Cyprus and abroad. ... A fragment of a photograph, a tiny piece of paper… that can be the beginning of a new work of art. This negligible slice of our world can give birth to another cosmos. Intense color and the use of collage permits a diversity of expression which gives rise to works that are dynamic and multifaceted. I sometimes express a tendency towards narrating a story, at other times, I distance myself from traditional depiction. In my previous set of works I explored the human outline as a form of dialogue. The outline is a boundary which encloses aspects of the world while excluding others. This constant and creative interaction defines, in a profound manner, the individual and his or her environment. At present, I am focused on this defining function of the human outline in an effort to understand further its emotional, existential and social significance.
