Wen-Chi was born and raised in Taiwan and has lived in New York since the 1990’s. She has been involved in many creative activities such as painting, film, theater, performance art, music and fashion. She is also a trained holistic medicine practitioner with 14 years of experience working as a licensed acupuncturist, Reiki master, and shamanic medicine. More recently, painting has become Wen-Chi’s main medium for embracing the light of her spirit. Her diverse backgrounds in both art and healing bring a unique perspective and expression to her paintings. For Wen-Chi, art is a spiritual transaction. Her inspiration derives from mystical studies and experience in Eastern philosophy, meditation, and Shamanic worldview, which have shaped her personal, spiritual and artistic life. With her boundlessly vivid imagination, Wen-Chi utilizes surrealistic dream-like images, internal organs, abstract visionary patterns and Chinese calligraphy to create a conversation with the metaphysical realm where all things are possible and connected. Her art is a journey inwards to furthest reaches of the human body, mind, and soul, to open a new understanding of our shared divine consciousness. It is to be enjoyed as a visual feast as well as a healing tool ~ a mirror and life force that empowers personal catharsis and awakening. In a relatively short period of time since Wen-Chi first picked up her paintbrushes, she has already been showcased in a number of different galleries, art fairs and art venues in New York City.
