"Global Head Injury" Fine Art Print

Born and raised in Seattle, I'm an abstract artist and entrepreneur based in Santa Fe, NM. Rooted in the pioneer tradition of the Northwest and the story-telling culture of Irish ancestors who built railroads, re-plumbed a city and led a state, I paint to excavate the truth of my history. This is a personal pilgrimage, a way to grapple with issues such as mortality, infertility and transformation. I'm inspired by Kandinsky and Helen Frankenthaler. I work with lot's of water and apply paint mostly by hand, building up layers by mixing directly on the canvas. I will overpaint to add structure, or use texture to impart structure. Most of my current work includes fine glass tiny beads and lot's of iridescent shimmer.
