The kairos (taekgeun Song) began his artistry with doubts about the existence of God. He looked for evidence of God’s existence by experimenting with the hypothesis that if God really existed, he would exert some influence on those that try to communicate with him. He waited to capture God’s influence, by orchestrating a situation in his life where if God were to exist, he’d have no choice but to be influenced by the word of God. However, having lived a strict, disciplined life for a long time, he noticed various desires erupting in his mind. His work, which is based upon stories of good and evil, is composed of various organisms and forbidden fruits. Our desire to be tempted by forbidden fruit, and the consequences of eating it, has continued to manifest within his storytelling as themes of sin and death. The author, the kairos, values improvisation in his work, rather than following elaborate methods. Through the use of oil paintings, quick and tough brush strokes, and the uncontrolled flow of paint, viewers can feel the artist’s personality, mood, emotion and behaviours at the time he created the work. The artist continues his storytelling by continuing to develop a series of new works.
