Kavion Robinson is a Caribbean-American painter and illustrator, best known for his evocative figure paintings in a style that blends conceptual realism with narrative depth. Born in Jamaica, he moved to New Jersey at the age of 12. Largely self-taught during his early years, Robinson later earned a scholarship to study illustration at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in 2009. Robinson has illustrated over a dozen children’s books, including Empress of Coils, Irie the Caterpillar, Zulu the Pupa, and Out of Many, One People: The Story of Jamaica Illustrated. His work has been exhibited both locally and internationally, with notable exhibitions at the Jamaica National Museum (2012), where he received the Best Figure Painting Award, and the Warden’s House Gallery in New Jersey (2018) for a solo art show. He currently resides in New Jersey, where he continues to work as a freelance illustrator and painter.
