Born 1976 in Gothenburg, Sweden "The subconscious art illustrates our subconscious behaviour" The paintings use the subconscious expression of surrealism as a tool to illustrate the human subconscious behaviour. I.e.. the processes in the mind that take place automatically and are not available for introspection and include thought processes, memories, interests and motivations. For example, our subjectivity or group dynamics and how it affects our behaviour and how it is expressed in our time Inspiration and painting techniques come primarily from the masters of the Renaissance. Typical procedure, simplified in three steps: - The canvas is prepared to a smooth surface. - Underpainting with subsequent opaque / semi-opaque layers to primarily establish the motif and secondary colour and light - Transparent Layers to optimize colour and light. Inspirations include Caravaggio, El Greco, Fra Angelico, Hieronymus Bosch, Jacopo Pontormo, Rogier van der Weyden and Velazquez Please feel free to reach out to me for any questions. /Hans
