ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is an image of my father baptizing my sister. The water was cold and she came back up gasping for air and heat. I've depicted just the two of them here, background melted away, other church members removed to try and capture the interaction between them in this moment. My father, so proud of his daughter. My sister so willing to believe at that age in a higher power, and this ritualistic rebirth. This is an acrylic on canvas, that comes varnished with a high gloss varnish.
