La sepultura I Print

I live slightly outside Florence in the town, where Giotto and Beato Angelico were born and grow up. They were both middle age painters, Giotto 200 years before Beate Angelico. I did the painting for a group exhibition as a tribute to Beate Angelico. Inspired by his painting "L'Angelo annuncia la resurrezione di Gesù Cristo alle pie donne”, in English something like: ”The Angel announces the resurrection of Jesus Christ to the pious women”. A mural painting painted between 1438 and 1440 and today it is housed in the National Museum of San Marco in Florence. I have given my interpretation of his painting a bit less than 600 years after he finished the mural. I have drawn a red line at the bottom of the painting which is a cardiogram to show that time passes. Original art work, oil and tempera on canvas. Year 2012 Signed and dated on the front Gallery wrapped and stretched on a 2 cm deep stretcher frame, the edges are painted. Shipped stretched and ready to hang.
