About The Artwork
I begin a painting and then I end it. I push it and pull it. Painting is a rollercoaster. Some rides are gentler than others. Paint goes down, and then more, until I have something to start. And then it begins. It is like landing on a field. In an organic manner, I respond to what is in front of me. It can be a wonderful meditation in between the rollercoaster moments. I have no plan. I am influenced by ideas, people and places. I am a visual sponge, eyes-wide-open – everywhere. From oil in a gutter to last light on a castle. This painting is part of the Leap series. My process is the same for all works. I push and pull until I am finished, always striving for another breakthrough. Enjoy.
