Les fleurs du mal. Print

I was born in Havana, Cuba, in 1967. From my childhood my steps walked along two paths: I cured lizards and other animals and painted or turned into sculptures the images that existed around me. Due to my vocation, I became a threat to walls, furniture and appliances and much feared in the homes of friends and family. My primary school teachers noticed from an early age my great interest and artistic talent, but my inclination to heal tipped the balance towards the study of medicine and I ended up graduating as a doctor. Then, painting became a necessity, a way to express feelings with that provocative avidity for color that characterizes me, that desire to show the world what was in my mind for a long time. Most of my pictorial work is the result of multimedia, acrylic, charcoal, oil, ink, in fabric and paper, in different formats. I have made several series such as: Personas, Lucias, El bufón, Eva y Mariela, Caracol Erotico, Mi Divina Comedia, Cancionero, Cuba se va, Seavolve, El Monte, Los Feos, Deshojando Margaritas, Locuras, Las Flores del mal, 4 Estaciones en Bicicleta, Sábanas Blancas, Club 27. I am also co-founder of the "Art is Everywhere" Project. My paintings have been exhibited in Cuba, Costa Rica, Mexico, Tampa, Saint Petersburg, Puerto Rico and New York.
