I have enjoyed a lifelong pursuit of communicating thru art. Whether it is with paint & brush or piano & guitar or sculpting wood I strive to create the grace and harmony that I seek to share with others. I have always rejected the notion that I should confine my work to one style. The idea that an artist should restrict them self to one style seem's ludicrous to me. Abstract painting appeals to me as a wonderful opportunity for limitless exploration. My desire is to create paintings the viewer can connect with. When I succeed I feel I have created a bridge between myself and the the viewer. Abstract art challenges the viewer and artist to communicate in a non-verbal way. Experimenting with color and form has always fascinated me. The endless possibilities that a blank canvas offers to me as an artist are at once overwhelming and thrilling. I begin with a color and stroke or shape and then search for inspiration to see what my instinct suggests. My desire is to create contemplative and comforting images.
