The artwork series with the geometric pattern depict the way the human brain constructs reality. Moritz Jäger (b. 1983). Born and raised in the Swiss Alps in Arosa and Chur, Graubünden, Switzerland. Currently living in Zurich. I am primarily a painter, but some time ago I began cutting my paintings and weaving them into one another. My recent work focuses on transformation: first dissolution and deconstruction, followed by rebuilding and reconstruction. The dissolution of the old is a prerequisite for the emergence of the new. The original elements are detached from place and time and reassembled into a kind of floating space—an in-between world. The transformation this space has undergone remains visible and in fact forms the foundation of the space itself. It is a space that is comprehensible, yet unsettling and disorienting. Someone once said: too clear for ambiguity, but too ambiguous for clarity.
