This is a painting of the east portal of the tunnel which crosses beneath the continental divide of Colorado at an elevation of 9,239'. This tunnel was put into service in February, 1928. Prior to that, a steep rail line crossed Rollins Pass at 11,677'. This is one of my favorite places in Colorado.
