MOTHER AND DAUGHTER = Portrait Painting Print

I was inspired to create portraits of myself, my family and close friends to record and document a moment in time. I enjoy creating figurative fine art pieces of people in various mediums and techniques. This acrylic painting, 'Mother and Daughter,' looks at the relationship between a child and her mother. The daughter looks like a clone of her mother; It is as though they have become one. I remember feeling overwhelmed as a child at the thought that my mum would die one day. Now that I have my children, I was extremely fretful and looking back. I can see that it must have been a mental and physical drain on my mum. As any parent knows, having children changes the way you are forever. You want to protect and nurture them, which I have tried to show in this painting. The mother's arms are wrapped around her daughter, protecting her from anything that might come her way throughout her life.
