Dan Brodie was born in England but spent a chunk of time in rural Wales before moving to Pine Mountain in California at the age of 6. Whilst in Pine Mountain, Dan and his family were briefly homeless and lived in a tent in the woods - some of his time was spent tracking bears and coyotes across the snow during winter, and avoiding rattle snakes during the summer. Searching for more opportunities, his family moved to the Pico Neighbourhood of Santa Monica. Whilst living there for a further 7 years, Dan witnessed drive by shootings and violence, murder on the Freeway and was once shot at himself. It was the best time of his life. At the age of 15 he moved back to England and has lived there ever since. An outsider everywhere, these early experiences have greatly informed his current work.
