Hi, I'm Esther, a studio painter from Trinidad, in the Caribbean. Oil painting is my passion. I enjoy exploring the visual language of colour and form. I am drawn to earth's landforms and geomorphology; this inspires my expressive mark making and unconventional application of media, in order to obtain unpredictable and exciting results. My paintings are usually portraits where hyper realism is juxtaposed against the abstract. The colours are vibrant and expressive; I build up layer upon layer, with rich results.
