ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is 25-year-old queen Elizabeth II before her coronation. She was in mourning of her farther’s recent tragic death. I am always curious about what she thought at that moment, being a young woman thrashed into such a position, at a time when women were supposed being housewives only. Hopefully I channeled her dignity, quiet determination, and resilience through this painting.
