ABOUT THE ARTWORK
At the southern end of Santa Monica Bay lies Rat Beach. Fear not, the name does not come from an infestation of furry rodents. R.A.T. is an acronym for Right After Torrance because the beach is found just south of Torrance Beach. It is a popular spot to surf year round but the surfers often wear wetsuits to keep warm as seen in the painting.
