Quiet moments in nature, the softness of light, and the presence of birds shape the foundation of Elizabeth / Liz Altin watercolor work. Her paintings explore stillness, balance, and the subtle connection between living creatures and their environment. Birds appear frequently in her work — not only for their beauty, but for their character, movement, and quiet expressiveness. Elizabeth received her art education in Russia, where she developed her artistic foundation and later worked with children, teaching art and encouraging creativity through drawing nature and animals. After moving to the United States, her work became deeply influenced by the natural surroundings of New York. The sound of birds in the morning and the opportunity to observe them closely became an important and lasting source of inspiration. A defining moment came during a visit to Florida, where the richness and diversity of birdlife — from herons and pelicans to flamingos and roseate spoonbills — revealed a new sense of color, elegance, and movement. This experience led to a series of bird paintings, including a private wall collection created for a collector. Today, her work continues to focus on capturing quiet, reflective moments — where color, light, and form come together in a sense of calm and presence. Her paintings are held in private collections across the United States and Europe and have been exhibited in local art spaces in New York.
