About The Artwork

This type of painting is a kind of photo manipulation, which happens physically, not digitally. The printed version of the photo is transformed with the brush, paint or even by my own bare hands. I find the thought interesting, that until others look at a photo as a final phase of a given moment, in the meantime that photo is the starting point of the process. The photo is the perpetuation of a given moment from an event in progress. On my paintings the photo is just the foundation of the creation of a moment which has never happened in reality. In this case neither the painting nor the photo can be interpreted on its own. The two together – as each others layers – show the process which started with a photo and finished with a painting.
