About The Artwork
When I was little I often went with my parents from the town where we lived, in the Netherlands to my grandmother's house in a village just over the border. These 15 kilometers were though a non-descriptive landscape that didn't feel like the Netherlands nor like Germany. And in fact it changed nationality all the time during history. Last time in 1963, when it became German (again). I love this nearly abstract universal landscape. Although the painting is at first glance minimalistic, it has a lot of detail.
