About The Artwork
The first picture "Harmony of spirit" shows a Japanese woman as the representative of a tropical race, in the traditional dress. She holds Sakura - symbol of innocence. Print of her kimono is a continuation of plant theme, it reminds exotic scenes of Henri Rousseau. It is a symbol of spring, dawn and promise of a new life that is given to a human by the Earth. This explains why the name of Japan "Nihon" is often translated as "The land of the rising Sun". The image of Japanese woman reminds Buddhism in that original incarnation, which it obtained outside of its homeland - India. There is an eagle with wings resembling the mosaic pattern. Calm and confident flying of the eagle symbolizes harmony and serenity.
