Latika (b. 1993) is a self-taught artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She paints vibrant portraits, often with surreal elements, that reflect on the nature of personal identity and somatic memory. Her practice is motivated by a desire to know herself fully, even the parts she doesn’t understand, and is predicated on the transformative power of curiosity about the self. Latika’s work has been included in group exhibitions with Established Gallery, Warnes Contemporary Gallery, Arts Gowanus, and Movement Gowanus. In 2024, her work was featured in a public installation with Arts Gowanus and the New York City MTA.
