"Spunk" Fine Art Print

My work fluctuates with how I’m feeling and what I’m thinking, similar to a journal entry. Ideas and thoughts bubble up and are released into textural shapes and colors. My subconscious plays a crucial role in transforming my subject matter. My creative intuition guides me through the process of creating art. I start by manipulating the canvas with different texture-building materials (household and traditional) to see what develops and what ideas reveal themselves. As the canvas evolves, color is added and starts to mingle with the shapes revealed. The brilliant colors and textures I use help to project beyond the flat surface, helping you to experience another dimension. I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Russia, immigrated as a child to New York, grew up in Chicago, and spent some time in the Pacific Northwest. I currently live in Brooklyn, NY.
