About The Artwork

As a practitioner of Zen and Tibetan Buddhism, meditation, and sumi-E ink painting, I've done many Ensō's. A daily Ensō practice shows us that the mind and body can freely express the moment - which is dynamic. I've contributed art annually to the Lion's Roar auction, including Ensō's. From wikipedia: Ensō exemplifies the various dimensions of the Japanese wabi-sabi perspective and aesthetic: fukinsei (asymmetry, irregularity), kanso (simplicity), koko (basic; weathered), shizen (without pretense; natural), yugen (subtly profound grace), datsuzoku (freedom), and seijaku (tranquility). An Ensō is a nice addition to a meditation or yoga room, but anywhere in the house it can serve as a reminder to clear the mind and be in the moment. It is a symbol of many things, so consider your own core value. 10"x10" on 140LB acid free watercolor paper Sumi Ink with red ink stamp ships in a box, ready to frame

Welcome to my Saatchi online gallery! I have done many styles of art for several decades, including Asian brush stroke ink painting, and midcentury abstract expressionism. I'm constantly exploring new subjects, materials, and methods. My yoga and meditation practices influence my art style, through which I hope to impart tranquility, peace, and playfulness. My preferred mediums are acrylic, ink, graphite, and watercolor on paper. I love to work on flat, white paper, which gives paintings an effect one cannot achieve on canvas — plus, it affords the opportunity to add a stunning frame. The music I listen to when I create art ranges from Native American drumming to Tibetan and Gregorian chants, Vivaldi, and singers like Leonard Cohen and Loreena McKennitt. Approximately two hundred of my paintings have been sold to people across the U.S., Britain, and Canada. My work has been exhibited in galleries in Colorado and Nebraska. I joined Saatchi in 2023. Thank you for stopping by. .........................................................
