ABOUT THE ARTWORK

My masterwork “The Raven’s Lullaby” is inspired by my own life experience and trauma. This painting features a cradle, symbolizing new life and birth, but instead of a baby, it holds a coffin. A raven crow perches nearby, often seen as a harbinger of death in various cultures. The barren land surrounding the scene emphasizes the desolation and emptiness that comes with loss. Ocean waves crash in the background, representing the uncontrollable and chaotic nature of life and death and the sun setting sun represents the death of a mother. I hope my viewers will understand the depth and hidden meaning of my painting :) I used oil paints and the subject matter is my own personal trauma of losing my mother at the time of delivery. I’ve used gloss varnish to protect the painting from Dust and UV rays.
