I have been a painter for most of my life, although for many years my ability to fully dedicate time to my art was limited. Starting a family at an early age meant that much of my focus was placed on providing and building a stable life. Even during those demanding years, I remained committed to my creative passions — often waking at 5:30 each morning before work to spend a few precious hours painting. My dedication eventually earned me several painting scholarships at Glassell School of Art, where I was able to further develop my technical skills and artistic foundation. While time constraints continued to limit my growth for many years, retirement has finally allowed me the freedom to fully immerse myself in the arts. With this new chapter has come greater confidence, artistic growth, and a deeper commitment to mastering my craft. In addition to painting, I have also discovered a passion for songwriting and music production, independently writing and producing more than 70 original songs. My work often reflects African American themes and experiences, inspired by the world I know and the stories I believe deserve greater representation within the art community. As I continue to evolve creatively, my goal is to contribute work that is both personal and meaningful while adding my own unique voice to the arts.
