"The Difference Is Time" Painting

Hannah Delightful Wheeler is a British painter with Swiss heritage. Her artwork has been influenced by an off-grid childhood and an alternative education in the Westcountry. Hannah studies subtleties of body language, emotion and gesture. The figures she paints are not only art, but real characters she has connected with, and it is through their humanity that she tells universal stories of warmth, struggle, communication, and strength. By removing people from their modern context and placing them into ambiguous settings, Hannah allows these characters to raise and answer questions through composition, narrative, and symbolism. She liberates these characters from current circumstances and makes them timeless, to be interpreted and considered by her audience. ​She currently works with Praevmedic in Switzerland, regularly providing confidential portraits as part of an Ethical Health Program, supporting clients through mental health crisis.  She has a studio in Bude on the North Cornwall coast and is available for exhibitions and commissions.
