ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Tiger in the night is a Photorealism, Figurative, Fine art animal acrylic painting. I painted it in memory of my cat Tiger, who had such kind eyes. I wanted to depict the kindness and beauty of my tiger cat, so I chose a young tiger as the subject. With the dark blue abstract background, I wanted to show the humid jungle of the coldest hour of the night, my sorrow. I chose acrylic and canvas because I felt they were more in tune with my emotions. The dark blue abstract background and the orange stripes focus on the tiger's eyes, which I tried to depict photo-realistically to make the tiger's eyes stand out from the plane of the painting.
