In his 80's, Luo Zhiwen has been suffering OPMD causing his eyelids drooping for the past 20 years, but that doesn't stop his passion in art. He holds his eyelids open with his left hand while painting & printing calligraphy with the other hand. It's touching to see him focusing on his art world this way. Zhiwen has shown talent since a very young age. He drew chalk art on the floor and painted on small pieces of paper to save money on paper during difficult time. He was honored to accept academic art training at Guangxi Fine Arts Academy in China at early age and earned a BA degree there. Relaxing in retirement in an amazing limestone region helps him enrich his expression in his paintings. His beautiful, calm, mystical & delicate paintings mix traditional & modern aspects bringing you peace of mind. The inspiration of his paintings is from the Li River of China. His paintings have been published in several art magazines & often displayed in China artistic events as well as international exhibitions, such as The Conversation of Art & Civilization - The Exchanging Exhibition of American & Chinese and The display in Paris. As a senior artist, he sometimes lectures in advanced Calligraph & Painting seminars in Guangxi province to promote advancement in the skills of emerging artists, as well as taking part in municipal art committees and displaying in local exhibitions. collectors of his paintings include USA California, Pennsylvania, Arkansas & Canadian collectors as well as collectors in China.
