About The Artwork

I made this painting after a photograph I took in Scotland, on the Isle of Mull. The low tide reveals the algae-covered rocks. The stranded, wooden fishing boat lie slowly rotting and they know they will never head out to sea again, giving a nostalgic feeling, despite the bright color palette.

Artist, free-lance graphic designer and photographer. I went back to (almost) full-time painting in 2017. I don't feel connected to the advertising world and computer generated visuals anymore. I wish to produce genuine art and tell stories with my paintings. After breaking a leg last year, I had to stay in bed and picked up water color. Artists like Edward Hopper, Joaquin Sorolla and Egon Schiele inspire me greatly. My favourite subjects are people, views with water (sea, river, lake, boats) and fly fishing.
