I was born in 1969 and grew up in Bexleyheath, Kent. I took a foundation Art course at Camberwell Art College in 1988 where I decided to become an Artist and subsequently graduated from Central/St Martins with a BA Hons in Fine Art Painting in 1991. I have a studio in Bow Arts, Bow, London, where I continue to paint today. My Art is a visual/rhythmic dance between reality and imagination. It is a mental playground for subconscious processes, a space where possibilities and potentials for life can arise and an exploration of our spectrum of consciousness. The images I produce stem from real life experiences mixed with the subjects of Science, Art and Psychology. My genre of painting is a figurative/narrative approach, a rich blend of Expressionism, Surrealism and Pop Art with a strong influence from the world of Animation. I work in a series of approximately a dozen paintings at a time with either oil or acrylic on canvas. I paint in a bright, bold, loose and colourful style, with as little reference as possible and with a serious sense of fun! This method gives me the freedom to express myself at the speed I enjoy and the time to alter my initial ideas into more dynamic and meaningful images
