Vortex is a series of paintings, now in a larger format, that centers around energies. Each work is a whirlwind of intention and a meditation in itself, no two are alike, just as no two moments in time are alike. Each painting captures the energy of the moment it was created. Verónica Russek, born in Monterrey, Mexico, is an artist with over two decades of experience in the visual arts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from Arte A.C. and a diploma in Jewelry and Accessories Design and Production from CNCI University. She has further expanded her artistic education through studies in art history at ITESM in Monterrey. Her practice centers on a sustained investigation of color as both structure and language. Working through abstraction and geometry, Russek develops chromatic studies that explore how color relationships generate movement, rhythm, and emotional resonance. Her work often unfolds in series, where each piece functions as part of a broader exploration of variation, balance, and intensity. Influenced by Mexican modern art and its tradition of geometric abstraction, as well as Op Art and mid-20th-century visual culture, her work engages perception through carefully constructed compositions. Layering color, repetition, and precise spatial organization, she creates dynamic surfaces that evoke vibration, depth, and energy. While grounded in formal exploration, her work is also informed by reflections on the human experience and contemporary social dynamics, approached through a visual language that emphasizes clarity, structure, and chromatic impact. Russek has participated in over eighty exhibitions, art fairs, and auctions in Mexico, the United States, and Brazil. Her work has been presented at venues such as Spectrum Miami Art Fair, The Other Art Fair, Art Fest Mexico, UNAM Chicago and Torrego Art Gallery in São Paulo. Her pieces are held in private collections across Mexico, the United States, Brazil, and Europe, and have been exhibited in institutions including Museo MARCO (Museum of Contemporary Art) and the Metropolitan Museum of Monterrey.
