This work was inspired by the treacherous beaches of Northern California. I hope my viewers get a sense of the sinking feeling that life can sometimes bring. I chose watercolor because it gives a great texture to the wave along with bold lines to emphasize the movement of the wave.

Born and raised in the tough tundra of Alaska, then snapping shots of the peaks in Colorado, and finally finding tranquility at the beaches in Northern California; this has been my journey to creating art that connects to the natural world around us. The majority of my work is self-initiated. It is focused on statements on society combined with deep appreciation of the natural elements of the world, both in 2D and in 3D. My artistic process includes various multi media strategies such as impasto to watercolor wet brush with an added impressionism flare. I find the most interesting Art is work that tells a story about a place or has a unique purpose.
