I made this painting in full pandemic. In the first months when my country was closed due to the emergency. I felt the need to escape and to stay, at least in my imagination, in a non-place. I dreamed of getting lost in these waves during this beautiful sunset..

My name is Manuel and I am an Italian pianist, composer and painter. I was born in Florence in 1988 and my family has lived in Tuscany for countless generations. I learned the rudiments of painting when I was still very young at the age of 5 from my uncle who is an abstract painter and gallery owner from Florence. I won my first painting prize at the age of 13 and at the same time I began to perfect my technique with charcoal and watercolor. When I was 13, I attended a concert by my future teacher and was shocked. So I started playing the piano and wanted to become a pianist. In fact, I'm still having a good career as a pianist, I've done many concerts all over the world and won many competitions. At 14 I also started composing my first pages of music. I recently decided to devote myself more to art as well because I felt that something was missing. After a long period of suffering, musical composition, art and the rediscovery of unpublished pieces from the 18th century have been my motivation. I am extremely convinced that art in all its forms can enrich people and our journey in this world.
