Born and brought up in a small, cordial town called Tinsukia in Assam; colors have always fascinated the creative space of my mind. Painting has always been a faithful partner to me since the time I can remember. I was one of those ordinary young boys who grew up watching his mother and uncle paint pictures which grabbed my interest in art that was manifested in big and small creative outputs. A never-ending longing to capture and store the nature's rich beauty throughout my life tempted me more. I never had the pleasure of learning fine arts from a proper teacher or institute. As a beginner, I would always fall short of subjects to paint, and then exploring my surroundings gave me much more to see, to observe, and take in what the world could offer me. It is then when I started studying nature in depth. The smell of my enchanting native ground gave me a whole new inspiration because the beauty of the land never goes out of the taste! I believe that there is always something new to look forward to painting, nature has its arms spread out to welcome you and there is always something new to offer those who have the desire to explore. With time and dedicated practice, watercolor has painted a very transparent image of itself in my mind. Sometimes, it makes me feel as if it is like a girlfriend to me, that narcissist girlfriend who never realizes the love and effort you put in satisfying her, who will never love you back to the extent you do to her and who fails in fulfilling your expectations towards her. Later it compelled me to change my mind to compare it with the 'nature'. Similar to Mother Nature, no matter how beautiful may it appear to be but is difficult to master because we are a part of it and we came straight out of it. Watercolor similarly flows and sets itself with you according to its own mood. Whenever I was able to gain the so-called confidence of conquering it like a king, watercolor has left no stones unturned to snatch away my throne and show me my status in its empowering reign. And then there I see it shining brightly with pride and laughing at my failures to overpower it. I work on almost all kinds of subjects but the hues and the aroma of the mud and soil tempt me to capture its charm because I feel that maybe it won't live endlessly. I have contemplated that a day will come when both the body and the soul will be forsaken and will no longer hold any value which has expanded my desire to portray the abandoned indoors.
