I am inspired by botanical artists from the European golden age - Albrecht Dûrer, Clara Peters, Floris van Dyck, Carravaggio, Juan Sánchez Coton to Paul Cezanne, Georgia O'keefe and saw grandeur in the small beauties that surround us in nature and immortalized them in paintings Albrecht Dürer, Clara Peters, Floris van Dyck to the more contemporary work of Cezanne and Georgia O'keefe, and my own friend, the Canadian painter Geradine Jenkison. The thistle-like flower of the artichoke with its silvery-sage architectural leaves is the subject of a scan made on an 11 x 17 flatbed scanner.
