To me, available (window) light always brings out so much texture and gradation in tones. Virtually any subject takes on a natural look, just as you would see it in someone's home. At the age of twelve, Jeff worked all summer cutting lawns in an idyllic New England suburb to acquire his first camera, a Minolta SRT202 (which he still has). And so began his love affair with film and photography. His high school chemistry teacher showed him the true magic of the darkroom and the mysteries it reveals to those who are curious. After his formal photographic education and working in the photo industry for several decades, Jeff has thoroughly enjoyed many years as a successful biomedical and commercial photographer. He continues to teach photography at every opportunity. Jeff continues to find inspiration for his commercial and fine art photography from the visual wonders surrounding us all. He finds it irresistible to capture the myriad of light, textures, tones and details working with medium and large format film and digital technologies. Black & white, film photography is Jeff's life long passion and his preferred medium for personal projects and artistic expression - every chance he gets. Jeff’s visual journey of discovery continues unabated.
