Arturs Kondrats (1984) is a professional photographer from Riga, Latvia. He started taking pictures 10 years ago and his hobby grew into a profession over many years, through an accumulation of experience. Self-taught, he has developed his practice because of an interest and passion for the medium, which has consumed all of his free time. He started his own studio four years ago and is a full-time photographer since 2013. Arturs Kondrats is a portret and fashion photographer, shooting for biggest local fashion and lifestyle magazines such as “L’Officiel”, “FHM”, “Playboy”, “Pastaiga”, “Santa”. In 2015 he had his first solo exhibition “MOMENTUM”. Exhibition was created by taking portraits of 30 well-known Latvian celebrities and combining that with augmented reality (AR) so the portraits come to life. Using an app the visitors of the exhibition were able to scan the portraits, a video of that person then appeared on their screens telling a story about a moment in their lives. The story was not only told by the photos but also by people in those photos. This made MOMENTUM unique and the first exhibition to use AR technology in Latvia (). Today Arturs Kondrats is stepping outside his comfort zone - portret & fashion photography, starting to focus on nature photography and experimenting with different, new techniques.
