I took this image of a calla lily flower on my film camera some years ago, and have recently re-edited it. This is one of my favourite flowers to photograph, and it's statuesque shape always results in a striking image. This classic black and white image captures the elegant beauty of this flower.

I am a professional photographer, specialising in landscape and travel photography. I was born in Dublin, Irish Republic, but have lived in the UK since I was 6 years old. Since my early school years, I have had a passion for the art and craft of photography, and on leaving school I was apprenticed to a busy photographic studio in Liverpool, where I learned my craft, moving on to become studio manager, and then to running my own business, where I specialised in portrait & wedding photography. At the same time, my love of both photography and travel led to the creation of many stunning images of the landscapes of Wales, England, Scotland and places further afield. I now travel extensively in search of new images - my latest journeys have taken me to the High Atlas mountains and Sahara desert in Morocco, and to the glaciers and icecaps of Iceland.
