Taken at the Pont de L'Alma Metro Station. Close to the now infamous Pont de L'Alma Tunnel where Princess Diana, Dodi Fayed and Henri Paul died on 31st August 1997, this has lead to an increase in tourist traffic through the area. The Flame of Liberty at the Pont de L'Alma bridge's north end has become an unofficial memorial to Diana. The bridge was named to commemorate the Battle of Alma during the Crimean War, in which the Franco-British alliance achieved victory over the Russian army on September 20, 1854.
