ABOUT THE ARTWORK
What inspired me is the high contrast between the sunbeams on the sand in the foreground and the dark sky in the background. It addresses enjoying the moment in the sunlight, while knowing that rain is coming. There is a warning in the picture. The fence gives depth to the picture. The Northsea is visible in the background. I shot this spontaneously with my Leica Q on my walk through the dunes of Zeeland, The Netherlands. In the process of editing I have chosen to accentuate the contrast to make dark gray and black tones almost tangible and position the sunlight on the sand as a beacon of hope.
