Galatea - Limited Edition of 10 Print

Extra large teal and white canvas original wall art. Galatea, from my new series Sea Nymphs focussing on the transient beauty of water. The Sea Nymphs or Nereids are the daughters of the Greek God Nereus and were considered to be incredibly beautiful. Near my studio we have a 200 foot waterfall. The water flows from a landlocked loch (lake) that sits under the Trotternish Ridge on the Isle of Skye. The loch has been landlocked since the Ice Age, that means that up here on the cliff where I live, that pool of water has had no access to anywhere since the Ice Age and that waterfall is the mineral water from the loch returning to the ocean. I have included a picture of our location so you can see where I took these shots. Artworks in the Sea Nymphs Series look great together or in diptychs and triptychs, they include: Amphitrite, Erato, Galatea, Galene and Thetis possibly more as the Series develops. Once ready, it will be carefully wrapped and shipped in a sturdy art tube to ensure safe delivery.
