There’s an authenticity to people when they’re alone and lost in thought. I took this picture of the stranger seated beside me without her noticing and asked for her permission afterward. Had I done the opposite, her awareness of the camera would have taken the truthfulness of her expression away. There’s a pervading melancholy here too. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® paper, which is one of the world’s most popular papers. It's known for its wonderfully soft feel and lightly defined felt structure. Evan works in the camera department on Film and TV productions, most of his photography is done not at home but on his travels abroad.
