High Noon - Limited Edition of 50 Print

From the Artist: This piece was taken within the dusty confines of the legendary Palo Duro Canyon in the Texas Panhandle. The canyon was the last stronghold held by the Comanche Indians. The Longhorn pictured was a member of the official Longhorn herd of the state of Texas which resides there. The animal trainer was on hand and allowed me to get an up close and personal with this incredible creature without stressing the animal. This particular longhorn was an enormous and beautiful animal that fully represents the tough, rugged and unforgiving region. I chose black and white for this shot to focus on the marvelous fur textures of the animal backed by the ancient rock features of the canyon. I was inspired to photograph the region after reading the book Empire of the Summer Moon by S. C. Gwynne which I highly recommend.
